Interview with a Nuflours Superstar: Jenkins

You've likely been served by her at the bakery and farmers markets. She's been with us for over a year and has proven time and time again to be a customer favorite. As she's grown into her role with us, she's taken on challenging and rewarding tasks (the magic behind those amazing sandwiches? That's Jenkins!). We couldn't do what we do everyday without her and are so proud of how far she's come!

Most of my childhood was spent on a large farm in rural NH. I went to school in North Georgia and followed many of my classmates out west several years after graduation.

I was working in retail when a position in customer service at Nuflours opened up, a little over a year ago. I was already familiar with the business and the team through my roommate, who was hired shortly before the shop opened. I knew how much Phebe and Amanda cared about their people and their product and was excited to get to work doing something that mattered.

In my off time from Nuflours I'm busy with my theatre work. I am regularly involved in local productions as an actress, director, or playwright. (Next up is a production of Macbeth in August at Slate Theater in Sodo!) In any free time I can find in the cracks, I enjoy exploring the local coffee scene and mastering the perfect Old Fashioned.

I craft the sandwiches every week, and it's my happiest place at Nuflours--making fresh pesto and hummus, trying out new and unexpected combinations of flavors, and especially making sandwiches with particular regulars' likes and needs in mind.
